About Me

Ronald B. Kopelman (Kopy) is an aging ex-physicist turned rabbi. Ron has a wide variety of interests but, as you might imagine, rabbinics & anything Jewish tops the list. He is always ready to discuss the Jewish calendar, Jewish liturgy, & Judaism in general. In May of 1999, the Jewish Theological Seminary of America granted him ordination. Kopy has served both as a pulpit rabbi & as an academic rabbi ever since. He is a member in good standing of the Rabbinical Assembly. Ron has served in pulpits in Herkimer, NY, Utica, NY, Bowie, MD, & Buffalo, NY. He also has served as the Rabbinical Assembly Representative to the Empire (now part of Northeast) Region of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. For more of Kopy’s Jewish friends & places to visit, see the links scattered throughout this site. Kopy has posted some of his sermons & academic papers here as well.

Kopy also enjoyed programming his Mac in Objective-C & is now attempting to learn Swift. It’s fun, but the learning curve is steep! He also enjoys creating web pages, but, who has the time? Chatting about the Jewish calendar or Bible is still his 1st love. If you have any questions or just wish to schmooze, drop him a line.
